Richard A. Chilgren was born on February 4, 1937. He earned his B.S. degree from St. Olaf College (Northfield, MN) in 1959 and his M.D. in 1963 from the University of Wisconsin Medical School. Dr. Chilgren joined the staff at the University of Minnesota's department of pediatrics in 1964 as a resident.
